In the foreground is the three electrode pockels cell. Connected to it are a pair of step generators. Each has a risetime into the cell of around 1 ns and will keep one side of the cell charged for more than 1µs. By adjusting the relative delay of the triggering of the two units the cell can be used to open a cavity for times up to 1µs with fast rise and fall times. The driver jitter of 10ps rms 20ps peak to peak ensures that the number of round trip times in the cavity is constant.
