Some notes on pulse forming modules |
|
Many applications require pulse shapes that are nearer square than the unformed pulses from our basic units.
For some applications it is best to order a pulser with a shaped pulse as this can be done in the pulser and can be more efficient and give rise to fewer reflections than an external pulse forming module (PFN).
For applications where a changable external module is suitable we offer a range of pulse forming modules that can cover 100ps to 2ns to suit our PBG1 pulsers. Similar techniques can be used for our other pulsers (HMP & CPS) over a different range of pulse lengths.
These modules will work on other pulsers but may need to be adjusted for optimum pulse shapes. For slower risetime pulsers the shortest pulse shapes will not be possible.
